“Lost'

Stand still.
The trees ahead and the bushes beside you Are not lost.
Wherever you are is called Here,
And you must treat it as a powerful stranger,
Must ask permission to know it and be known.
The forest breathes. Listen. It answers,
I have made this place around you,
If you leave it you may come back again, saying Here.

No two trees are the same to Raven.
No two branches are the same to Wren.
If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you,
You are surely lost. Stand still.
The forest knows Where you are.
You must let it find you.”

This is a FREE online Instagram Photo challenge Invitation. It is an 10-day offering based on some of the lessons/themes of Camera Craft with prompts to get you reflecting on some of the things I love about photography (and Life) and its expressive potential.

A {Still} Life refers not just to the traditional still life (although that's one way to go) or to a life in stills, but rather to the contemplative conversation we can have when we get still and go within and how photography is a wonderful tool for both the exploration and the expression of this.

You can join us by simply following along on Instagram here or if you would like prompts right in your inbox pop your name in the form below and I'll deliver them to you to be sure you miss none.

I'll be posting a new Photo Prompt every morning, June 13th until June 23th on my Instagram feed.

Once you get the daily prompt, create your image, post on your Instagram feed with the hashtag #aStillLife so we can all connect together and support each other's soulful and expressive work.

If you enjoy this challenge and want to sink in deeper with your photographic practice, whatever it may look like now, join us June 27th - 30th of September (with a 5 week break in between to catch your breath and let the work sink in) with content, videos, photo inspiration, studying the auteurs, slide shows of such inspiration and the wonderful wonderful guest contributor lessons all designed to enhance your own expression.

I'd love for you to join us, it is such a wonderful collective of creative, expressive and inspiring women sharing their deep connection with photography. Click HERE for more info and to join the rest of us as we discover the Art of Seeing & wander Into the Light.
